Hello AWCD Hillwalkers!
This week, we will take on a festive tramp through the Phoenix Park, where we'll hopefully see some of Santa's Reindeer before they return to the North Pole for final training.
Even though there are about 600 deer, finding them can sometimes be difficult as they are wild animals, and are free to roam the huge 1,750 acre park!
(Phoenix Park is the largest city centre park in Europe, so it can take a bit of time to spot the deer).
The approx 9km loop route will take us through Dublin's Phoenix Park, passing the Zoo, the homes of Ireland's President and the US Ambassador, the Magazine Fort and ending with an optional lunch at the Hole in the Wall. Dogs welcome (leash required in places).

Meeting time: 10:00
Hike time: 2-3 hours (depending on pace)
Please bring: Water, snack, rain gear, hat and gloves, walking sticks if you have them.
