Hello hikers!
Our AWCD Hike this week will take us from the Djouce Woods Long Hill carpark through Djouce Woods to the base of the lovely Powerscourt Waterfall. At a little over 7 km, it should take us no more than 3 hours. So there will be time to get a lunch at Avoca on our way out!
Date: Thursday, 2 March 2023
Hike: The hike begins at the Long Hill carpark and descends gradually through forest roads to cross the Dargle River below the Powerscourt Waterfall. We will take our banana break near the base of the waterfall before returning via a gradual climb back to our cars. There is a stream to cross, so hiking poles will be helpful.
Meeting place: Djouce Woods Long Hill Carpark
Meeting time: 10:00
Hike time: 3 hours
Please bring: 1 liter water, snack, rain gear, hat and gloves
