Join us on a wander around the 86 hectares/201 acres of Marlay Park in Rathfarnham, home to Marlay House, built in 1974, and the Marlay Demense and the Laurelmere Victorian Cottage. Together we will walk the forested start of the famous 132km-long Wicklow Way and see where the little Dargle River feeds into the parkland. We'll  amble around the numerous playing fields and pitches and check out little bridges, ponds and waterfalls before a visit to the old stable courtyard that now houses a collective of artists and artisans - who knows what treasures we might find there?

Then, for those who have worked up an appetite from our walk, there is opportunity for some simple fare at the cafe that guards the entrance to the lovely formal Walled Garden where we'll take our last little stroll - if the resident peacocks permit!

This is an outdoor event, so lots of social distancing as we walk, but please note, the cafe is small, as are the artists' studios in the Courtyard. We will walk rain or shine - unless it's monsoon-ish!

Several buses stop right outside the Park. There is a sizable car park at the Grange Road entrance, right where we will meet by the front steps of Marlay House.

Hope to see you there!
