Hello hikers!
Please join AWCD for a walk through the beautiful Devil’s Glen.
Date: Thursday, 3 November 2022
Hike: We will walk the Glen in a figure 8 – first down to the river, with a small diversion to see the waterfall, then back along the river, up past the carpark, and around a woodland loop. At 10 km and 300 meters elevation gain, this is a moderate walk. We will take it at a social pace. Those that would like to can join the group for lunch at Avoca after the hike.

Hike time: 3 hours
Please bring: 1 liter water, snack, rain gear, hat and gloves
I have been asked by the AWCD to point out that walkers should be aware that they are responsible for their own safety and that they are NOT covered by the AWCD for Personal Accident Insurance. To hike with the Hillwalking group you must be a member of Mountaineering Ireland which provides us with insurance cover. If you have not walked with us before, you are allowed two guest walks before joining Mountaineering Ireland. You will need to sign a Guest Waiver Form. I will bring these on the walk.
Please sign up through Wild Apricot by the end of Wednesday (2 November) if you plan to join us on the hike. We will be setting up carpools to get to the trailhead; Please let me know if you can drive, and the nearest DART/LUAS station at which you can collect people. Carpool riders will be asked to pay 10 euro to their driver to help defray the cost of petrol.
