Hello hikers!
Our next AWCD hike/hillwalk will take place on Thursday, 6 October. We will be walking through the beautiful Massey Woods, then up to the infamous Hellfire Club.
We will meet in the Hellfire Club carpark at 9:20 next Thursday. Our route is about 10.5 km long, and will take around 3 hours (including a bit of time to explore the Hellfire Club). Those that wish to can join us for lunch at Timbertrove after the walk.
Hike: Massey Woods circular orange route, then blue route to Hellfire Club.
Meeting time: 9:20 for a 9:30 start
Hike time: 3 hours
Please bring: 1 liter water, snack, rain gear, hat and gloves, walking sticks
I have been asked by the AWCD to point out that walkers should be aware that they are responsible for their own safety and that they are NOT covered by the AWCD for Personal Accident Insurance. To hike with the Hillwalking group you must be a member of Mountaineering Ireland; this provides us with insurance cover. You are allowed to join AWCD for two hillwalks; if you wish to continue to walk with us you must join Mountaineering Ireland.
Please sign up through Wild Apricot by the end of Wednesday (5 October) if you plan to join us on the hike. We will be setting up carpools to get to the trailhead; Please let me know if you can drive, and the nearest DART/LUAS station at which you can collect people. Carpool riders will be asked to pay 10 euro to their driver to help defray the cost of petrol.
